Modelo 3D Platformer Chess With Q*Bert por Coep no MakerWorld

Descrição

Optional compatibility with magnets

Extra piece / rules included

Edit: improved supports for chess board

Inspired by classic 2D platformer arcade games, I present to you: platformer chess.

Now instead of jumping between digital platforms, you are able to literally jump between tiles with your pieces! All the tiles are individually mounted to the base with an arm, giving the tiles a perfect balance between sturdiness to hold your pieces securely, and a little bounce to give your pieces a small extra jump boost just for fun. The bounce only happens when you actively press the tile down, so you can also perfectly just play without any bounce at all!!

In addition to the small platforms, an extra (optional) Q*Bert piece is included with it's own special ability to spice things up. When you decide to play with Q*Bert, the following rules apply:

  1.  Check and Checkmate are no longer important. If your king is in check, you are allowed to any piece, even if it doesn't block the check.

  2.  Each player first makes a move using a standard piece as usual. The basic movement/capture rules still apply. After a player makes a move, they must place the Q*Bert piece on an empty space on the board.

  3. Q*Bert bocks the square it is standing on. Meaning no pieces (except the knight), can move/capture through Q*Bert.

  4.  A player wins when you captured the enemy's king.

  5.  If a player forgets to move Q*Bert to a different square, the enemy choose any piece that is not a king to be fed to Q*Bert. This piece is eliminated from the game.

Printing advise

Make sure to print the board, that the build plate is clean. Good bed adhesion is necessary. Use an extra adhesive spray to make sure the supports with the small footprint stick firmly.

The board seen in the pictures is printed on the X1C, when printing with an A1, slow the print speed down. Fast movements of the build plate can cause imperfections in the long arms.

Magnets

Print profiles are added if you wish to include magnets in the print. The Extra print profiles are made to use standard round magnets with a diameter of 5mm and 3mm in height. It is possible to use smaller magnets. If you are using smaller magnets and want to eliminate a ratteling sound, apply a small layer of glue to one side of the magnets before inserting the magnet, glue face down, in the holes during the pause. In total, 97 magnets are needed (64 for each square, 32 for each standard chess piece, 1 for Q*Bert)

It is important that the magnet polarities are correctly oriented. All the magnets in the board must point in the same direction. All the magnets of the pieces also must point in the same direction. But, make sure the directions of the board magnets and piece magnets are opposite. Otherwise, the board will repell the chess pieces, making it unsuable. So, for example, insert all the board magnets with the nord side pointing to the build plate. Then, when printing the pieces, insert the magnets with the south side pointing to the build plate.

Note: when you download the print profile for the chess pieces compatible with magnets, you will see that the pieces are spread over many build plates. This is to minimize the amount of filament being purged due to filament changes. The “print by object” feature is currently not compatible with added pauses in bambu studio.
