I wanted a camera dolly for taking smooth video shots and I like the idea of a powered one for a more consistent speed, as moving it manually can lead to a uneven speed. So I designed this dolly based on the Neewer DL400 but using mostly 3D printed parts and the CyberBrick kit. Originally it was going to have a motor drive the angle as well so it can be adjusted remotely, but I decided on omitting that so this can be made by those with just the beginner CyberBrick kit.

The standard CyberBrick tires with the smaller wheels will work fine on flat surfaces or very low pile carpet. I designed some wheels that are made out of 95A TPU with honeycomb infill for suspension as there is no type of dampening or suspension for the camera. You can change the infill percent of the support modifier in Bambu Studio to adjust the firmness or softness of the tires depending on what you're using (Cell Phone, Action Camera, Mirrorless,). I also have fuzzy skin turned for the outer permitter of it to give texture for traction. If you just plan on driving it on a perfectly flat surface (wood/tile/linoleum/etc.) you can use the standard tires, or you can use the TPU ones and remove fuzzy skin for a smoother surface. 

The center pin that joins the 2 halves prints on the first plate lying down, this gives it far more strength than printing vertical. It should press into the rear piece with roughly equal stick-out on either side, it will take some force to get in there as it should be solid to prevent any wiggling. If you want a more stable connection, you can use a standard 8mm x 25mm metal dowel pin instead, but it shouldn't be necessary. 

When building the gearboxes, make sure to use grease and make sure everything turns easily without binding. These motors are a little small to be moving around camera gear so the smoother they run the better. I might even suggest going with a higher gear ratio 1:60/1:85/1:105 will result in a much smoother video as it leads to a slower speed and more torque for a more even speed. I had initially planned on putting a higher gear ratio in it but I wouldn't receive them in time. Unless you're going with the higher gear ratio's I wouldn't recommend more than a cell phone or action camera unless it's on a flat surface, just due to weight on underpowered motors.

I plan on doing a alternate rear end with a single smaller wheel with a new control scheme which will allow it to drive around and steer like a normal vehicle for less smooth and more dynamic shots.
