Improvements
The basket now features handles on the sides and the ability to add magnets to the baseplate. You can also individually set the distance from the pattern to the different sides of the basket now.
Summary
This is a fully parametric stackable gridfinity basket that allows gridfinity bins of various sized to be placed inside. The basket can be useful for using gridfinity in drawers, shelves or basically everywhere. It also makes it easy to sort the bins or carry them somewhere else.
The baskets can be customized with different sizes, wall thickness, wall pattern, pattern settings, floor settings, padding, etc.
You can also use magnets, as well as add handles to the sides of the basket
Printing options
No support or brim needed for any of the baskets. the default settings for a 0.4mm nozzle work great. Using a 0.6mm nozzle can speed up the printing quite a bit too. You can also increase the layer height or use adaptive layer height to further decrease print time.
Print profiles
I uploaded some print profiles for 2x2x6, 3x3x6, 4x4x6 and 5x5x10 sized baskets. They all include 6 models with a hex pattern, a grid pattern and no pattern as well as with and without a gridfinity floor on the inside. All the baskets have a wall thickness of 1.6mm.
In addition, i uploaded some zip-archives (makerworld limits the total file size one is allowed to upload) with different sizes ranging from 2x2x3 up to 5x5x10 with even more settings.
If you want to change any other settings, simply use the makerworld parametric model maker. It's honestly the preferred choice.

Additional Notes
- The basket is only gridfinity compatible on the inside, the outside is not.
- If you want multi-color, use the parametric model maker and export as .3mf.
- The grid pattern can be quite fragile. Use a large PatternMinDist and possibly a larger WallThickness.
- The grid pattern takes the longest amount of time. If you don't care about material usage, you can use the basket without patterns to decrease print time.
- Trying to stack multiple baskets with different wall sizes might lead to some problems due to the way the stacking lip is designed.
- If you want more information on how the model is made, you can visit my github page ([https://github.com/LeKoYa/gridfinity-basket-openscad](https://github.com/LeKoYa/gridfinity-basket-openscad))
- Don't be surprised if the actual border around the handle is larger than what you entered for the handle border. The value acts as a lower limit and the border might be enlarged to accommodate the wall pattern. This ensures that no floating borders will be created and makes it possible to print the handles without support.
Acknowledgements
The base generation is inspired and adapted from the gridfinity-rebuilt-openscad project ([https://github.com/kennetek/gridfinity-rebuilt-openscad](https://github.com/kennetek/gridfinity-rebuilt-openscad)).
The general idea is loosely based on the gridfinity baseplate basket parametric ([https://www.printables.com/model/970197-gridfinity-baseplate-basket-parametric](https://www.printables.com/model/970197-gridfinity-baseplate-basket-parametric)) by Blaise's Workshop. In comparison to that model, the gridfinity basket here offers much more customization options and various improvements like the support for padding, different wall sizes or the support for the makerworld parametric model make with the help of openscad.
Changelog
31/08/2025: Bug fix for the handle generation.
13/07/2025: Changes to the handle generation. The handle now always has the width and height set by HandleWidth and HandleHeight, but the HandleBorder might get increased to accommodate the chosen wall pattern. Also added improvements and some bugfixes to the pattern generation in general.
09/07/2025: Added support for handles on the side of the basket. They can be configured with a minimum height, width and border around them. They also snap to the used WallPattern so that the Pattern does not look messed up and this also ensures that the basket handles can be printed without the need for support.
09/07/2025: Split up the PatternEdgeDist into PatternTopDist, PatternBotDist and PatternSideDist. This allows to use different distances from the pattern to the different sides of the basket.
23/06/2025: Added support for magnets together with chamfers around the magnet holes for easier magnet insertion.
