Switch 2 Flat Dock - Angled Stand for Small Cabinets
I needed to hide my Switch in a small cabinet (out of sight of my wife), but the tight space made it hard to access - especially turning it on or removing it from the dock, which required shifting everything around.
So I designed this angled stand for the official Switch dock. It lets me easily slide the console in and out without moving the dock itself. The stand positions the display facing upward to prevent scratches, and the dock can only be inserted in that direction. The feet of the dock slide into the stand, holding it securely in place. The bottom is open, and allows ventilation like the original dock.

The stand is stable and supports the combined weight of the dock and Switch without tipping. A small front lip prevents the dock from lifting up when you remove the Switch - no wobble, no frustration.
The bottom of the stand is open to allow for proper ventilation, so the dock doesn’t overheat even when enclosed in a cabinet.
After testing different angles, I found 15° and 25° work best. Shallower angles made docking fiddly and less reliable, while these make it glide smoothly into the USB-C connector.
For extra grip, I suggest adding rubber foam or similar material to the base - I've included a template to make it easy to cut the right shape. I also added soft padding on the lips to clamp the dock without scratching it. Example: | ![]() |

Added cutout to unblock airflow to the fan of the Dock.
Thx to @NameAlwaysInUse for making me aware of the issue.
