I’m a coffee-loving workaholic and a 3D printing enthusiast. I often tell myself, "I’ll brew a cup once I finish this task," but my intense focus makes me completely forget about coffee by the time I wrap up.

To solve this, I designed a coffee-themed mechanical timer inspired by the Moka pot’s iconic shape. I optimized it for 3D printing—simplifying geometries like converting the curved spout into flat facets, among other adjustments. Just twist the dial to your desired time, and when it rings, you’ll know it’s coffee o’clock.

Since using this timer, I’ve never missed my coffee break due to overwork. Its compact size makes it highly portable—easily tossed into a bag and perfect for outdoor trips.
My colleagues and friends loved it so much they’ve all asked for their own. That’s why I’ll open-source the design on MakerWorld, hoping more people can enjoy it.
As a structural engineer with limited exposure to industrial design principles, I have minimal expertise in CMF (Color, Material, Finishing) design. Consequently, I printed all model components in a single preferred color scheme. Surprisingly, the result remains visually appealing. We welcome community-driven contributions of additional configuration files featuring diverse color palettes.

I checked mechanical timer movements on Amazon, but prices are steep, and I couldn’t guarantee their mounting holes would align with my design. Reference link:

To address this, I’ve contacted MakerWorld’s team suggesting they stock this component in their Maker’s Supply library—enabling creators to build the model more affordably with parts that seamlessly integrate with the design files.
Wishing you all enjoyable coffee moments!
