My wife ended up getting quite a lot of thread lately and I needed a way to keep things organized, but still usable. After a little bit of tinkering I have these organizers. Using the gridfinity base, a standard 250 yard spool of thread fits perfectly in a single square. The rods to hold the thread are a sturdy 6mm diameter with a tapered tip to help pierce the paper covering the hole on the thread holder, but not hurt the user. My wife also wanted to be able to see the colors inside easily, so that's why I included the hexagon holes on the sides of all of the designs. Everything fits together perfectly with just enough headspace above the thread to allow the next layer to nest perfectly but not waste any extra space either. I also wanted to design a mix of sizes that would all fit together perfectly, not leaving odd sizes left wherever possible. 

I printed all of these in black PLA to make it easier to see the different colors of thread, but my all means have fun! I look forward to seeing everyone else's pictures of their prints and how well it works for them.
