6 Month Update: The cats are on them multiple times a day (I put food up there) and they're holding up well. No wobble or signs of wear. The only thing I'd note is that I put up one more a couple months later and found they were much more comfortable with a 12" post rather than the 6" and 10" ones I mentioned below.
I’ve always wanted one of those wall-mounted cat perches, but everything decent is expensive, and the DIY options can get a bit… sketchy. So I made my own version: sturdy and $8 per post.
My two cats (9lbs and 12lbs) have been using these daily for weeks, jumping and climbing without issue. This design combines 3D-printed supports with off-the-shelf PVC and rope. If you have bigger cats, you might want to tweak the print strength, but this setup has held up great in my home.

- Cap variants include

- Switch to “Objects” in Bambu Lab to assign filament colors
- Manual Inlay option: print paw pads separately and glue into the paw hollows

Assembly Instructions
If you need some visual assistance, I recommend this video. I didn’t trust the way he mounted the posts to the wall, but otherwise it's pretty good.
1. Prep the PVC
Cut to 6–8” (either works fine, but mine can turn around a little easier on the 8”). Mark 5cm from one end (mount insertion depth), lightly sand the rest for better glue adhesion.
2. Attach the Cap
Secure the cap with 0.5” screws. Triangular alignment marks inside the lip help with drill placement.
3. Wrap with Rope
Hot glue the rope to the post leaving space for the mount at the 5cm mark. Take your time and wrap it tightly, it’s worth it.
4. Mount to the Wall
Use a stud finder and the drill guide to mark the holes for pre-drilling. Partially insert the 2.5” screws and washers into the mount, line it up and screw flush.
Optional side holes for drywall anchors, but I don’t recommend relying on drywall alone.
5. Final Fit
Insert the PVC into the wall mount and screw into place using the side holes. 0.5” screws work great.

Bonus: Enrichment Built In!
One of the wall mount variants has a small divot, great for placing a few kibbles or treats. Encourages use and adds enrichment!
