Modelo 3D Cat Door with Ears por OsiViper no MakerWorld

Descrição

Tired of your cat scratching on your door at all hours of the night? Want to let the cat in and out of your office or workshop but don't want that pesky wife getting in? Here is your solution!

I have certain rooms of my house where the dogs are not allowed but the cats still are. I also keep the bedroom at a different temperature than the rest of the house at night year round, and I don't want to leave the door open all the time. I used to just keep it cracked so they could get through, but they would always manage to push it closed or all the way open. I went on Amazon looking for a cat door and saw something similar to this so I decided to make one.

There are 3 print profiles. The first profile has multi-colored/AMS prints with both the screw and tape-mounted versions. The second profile is single-color, screw-mounted version, it also has a version in there with the ears cut-out. The third profile is the same as the 2nd but for tape mounting, it has a cut-out version for ears as well.  If I had to print it again, I would go with a different white filament than the silk. It is semi-translucent and causes the ear color to bleed a bit. The screw mounted requires 3x M4 threaded inserts that are less than 7mm long, as well as 3x M4x45mm Button or Cap head screws. The double sided tape version uses standard 3M VHB type tape; you can use NB004 from Bambu store or any standard double sided tape that is ¾" or smaller, and at least 1mm thick (thin tape wont work). The spacer is designed to be used with a standard 1 3/8" thick door, the spacer can be rescaled on the z-axis accordingly for thinner or thicker doors.

Installation is simple, print out attached template on a standard 8.5"x11" or larger paper. Dimensions were added to the print to make sure your printers scaling is correct. After printing, make sure the listed dimensions match measured and scale the print accordingly. Usually it's not needed as the PDF usually prints correctly, but I added just for safety. Once it's printed, just align the bottom line on the template with bottom of the door, and tape it on and use it as a guide to cut with a hacksaw or jigsaw. If you are using the screw mounted version, drill the holes with the appropriate drill bit (make sure they're straight). The larger drill bit you use, the more margin of error you have for crooked or misaligned holes, but don't go too large. If you don't have a paper printer, you can print the model out and use it as a template, just make sure to cutout the opening for the door slightly larger to accommodate the spacer.

In the slicer, there are 0.4mm thick panes for if you want to print windows with translucent filament (PETG/PLA). If you don't want solid windows, you can go into the slicer under the objects, and just delete the 4 bodies marked “Window”. The original colored models also call for Bambu Support Material on the back side of the door. This isn't required but leaves a cleaner surface on the back side of the door. If you decide to go with standard support, make sure to change the support settings back to default (mainly top Z distance, top interface spacing).

I haven't been able to get it mounted yet as my jigsaw broke when I went to try to cut. Will get updated pictures once I get a new one in.
