- much improved slicer settings for better strength
V1: original design
After dozens of indoor flights, the time has come: I would like to introduce my thrust vector, specially designed for lightweight indoor models made of EPP. With this modification, you can perform impressive 4D flight maneuvers with your model!
The design is intended to be adapted to existing motor mounts. It couples the inputs of the rudder servo with the tilt of the motor. This opens up completely new possibilities in the agility and control of your aircraft, ideal for tight halls or precise aerobatic figures. For best results, I recommend a motor with thrust reversal.
The set consists of the following parts:
- Adapter plate: This plate is screwed onto the original motor mount, which allows for a residue-free removal at any time. This plate includes two holders for M2 ball heads, which act as a joint.
- New motor mount: This mount holds the 4D motor and is rotatably mounted to change the thrust direction. It is directly coupled with the rudder deflection. The holes are designed for M2 size heat-set inserts.
I have successfully used this thrust vector control to perform 4D flight maneuvers such as inverted torque rolls, knife-edge spins, etc. Material recommendation: no PLA, as it breaks quickly during early landings (😉).
