Auto Watering System for Garden Beds – Easy, Efficient, and 3D Printed!
Ready to level up your garden game? This automatic watering system is designed to keep your plants happy, hydrated, and thriving—all with the help of a few clever 3D printed parts and a bit of hose magic.
This model includes the essential printed pieces:
A spray nozzle that distributes water in a nearly full 360° radius - 2 versions, one for the middle of a row, and one to end a row.
A stake to secure the nozzle firmly into the ground
A T adaptor to customize your irrigation system
A line adaptor to connect two hoses
A hose-to-tube adaptor to transfer water from a standard garden hose to the 0.2-inch tubing
For best results, please print with a 0.2 mm nozzle.
Each nozzle sprays water about 1.5 to 2 feet in every direction, so for optimal coverage, I recommend spacing the nozzles 3 to 4 feet apart, with rows about 2 feet apart.
To make this system fully automatic, I’ve connected a garden timer to my main hose. It turns on for 5 minutes each day, delivering a consistent watering routine without any daily effort.
I use small rubber tubing (with an inner diameter of ~0.2 inches) to connect each nozzle. —super easy and inexpensive to set up!
This setup is perfect for garden beds, vegetable patches, or even a row of thirsty flower pots. It’s a fun and practical way to put your 3D printer to work in the garden!

Assembly:
Start by carefully removing all supports.
Next, glue the stakes to the bottom of each nozzle.
Set up the hose system by first connecting the hose timer to the spigot on your house.
Enter your desired watering times into the timer.
Attach your hose to the timer.
Attach the Hose Adapter to the other end of your hose.
Attach the tubing to your hose adaptor.
Cut the tubing to your desired length, add any T adaptors as needed, and add the nozzles at the ends of the tube.
Tip: When attaching hoses to 3d printed parts, use a lighter to heat the end of the hose to it is easier to get on the printed part. This will make assembly easier, and ensure a leak-free seal!
Enjoy hands-free watering!
