This is an assembly model which requires use of glue.
Reach stackers are the giants of the container yard—precise, powerful, and endlessly fascinating. Their ability to lift and position massive containers with agility and control makes them a cornerstone of modern logistics.
This 3D model brings that impressive functionality to life as a hands-on, printable experience. Designed for makers of all ages, it’s inspired by the same spirit of family, creativity, and discovery that shaped my own childhood projects with my grandfather. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or enthusiast, this model offers a rewarding way to explore the mechanics behind real-world machines—while building lasting memories, one piece at a time.
The project comes in two versions:
Basic Version (Free):-
Simplified with fewer parts for easier printing and assembly. A great starting point for beginners or those seeking a simpler, enjoyable build.
Designed for families seeking an immersive and challenging project, this version provides a deep dive into the mechanics of a reach stacker, making it both an engaging and educational experience.
Whether you choose the basic or premium version, this project is sure to provide hours of creative assembly and a memorable family experience. Bring the magic of engineering to life and make this model a centerpiece of your family’s building adventures! To assist with the assembly and showcase the functionalities, detailed Videos are provided, making the process smooth and enjoyable.
I am very thankful to Mr Benoît Lussier for his feedbacks which has helped me refine the model further.
As shown in the image below, there is an option for adding a real counterweight to the base plate of the model and then screwing it on. This would only be applicable if you are looking to use heavier payloads.
The design allows use of TPU filament as hydraulic and fuel lines. Since it may be difficult to stick TPU filament to PLA, I recommend melting the ends of TPU filament and inserting into the holes. Please make sure there is adequate slack in the lines. (GIF coming soon)
STATIC DISPLAY LOCKING
The are specific mechanisms provided by which various links can be locked in different poses. Please use a small piece of filament to lock the links as shown in the instructions below(GIF coming soon)
