Modular Comic Book Stand
I recently got my first printer (A1), and a friend asked if I could make him a comic book stand. Neither of us could really find something we liked, so I decided to design my own.
It was designed to be modular, featuring a divider/holder that can be placed in 4mm increments using a peg/hole system. It should theoretically accommodate up to at least 30 3.5mm thick comic books. Extra width has also been added to account for slightly wider or plastic-bag-encased books.
Specs:
Internal width: 180.5mm (~7.1in)
Internal length: 140mm (~5.5in)
Note:
I have only printed one and have noted one potential flaw, which is the wobblyness of the divider. To resolve this, I have included two possible fixes: a small support to add strength to the divider, and an alternative version with a longer peg and deeper hole combo. I have NOT printed or tested the alternative version with the altered peg/hole and, therefore, cannot confirm its efficacy; I would appreciate any feedback if you choose to print it. Also, I am completely new to 3D printing, CAD design, MakerWorld, and just about everything else that goes along with this hobby.
Versions:
v1.2 - Original with the additional third component, a support piece for the divider. [Printed & Tested by Me]
v2 - The alternative version with deeper holes in the base of the stand, and longer pegs on the divider. [Not Printed]
