3D model Modular 10" Server Rack by KellerLab on MakerWorld

Description

Infinitely Scalable

Modular 10" Rack

based on

HomeRacker

This is the current flagship model of the HomeRacker system.
It’s designed to handle any 10" build you can imagine.

To give you an idea how these may look like, this model comes in three tiers.

3 Tiers

Each tier represents a different print profile.

Cost

The models are free—of course.
But filament isn’t. And these three tiers differ significantly in cost.

I’ve attached a bill of materials for the Deluxe Cyberpunk Edition, which uses a lot of different filament colors and ends up being the priciest.

For all tiers, you'll need M6 cage nuts to mount 10" gear.

*Prices listed below are subject to change and are based solely on the amount of filament used as well as assumptions a bout electricity prices and wear&tear. If you need to buy entire rolls, actual costs may be higher.

🟩Base Edition

  • Core HomeRacker frame for a 10" rack
  • Mount for a 10" PDU
  • Mount for a 10" switch
  • A Raspberry Pi Case (insert link) with vertical mounting option

Metrics

  • PLA Matte Charcoal: 890g
  • Print time (X1C): 1d 7h 49m
  • Cost estimate: ~€24
(based on: €0.10/hr printer wear & tear, €17/kg PLA Matte, €0.15/kWh power at 100W)

Includes everything from the Base Edition, plus:

  • Airflow Kit
  • Handles

Metrics

  • PLA Matte Charcoal: 1454g
  • ABS Black (handles): 118g
  • PLA Matte Scarlet Red: 393g
  • TPU (any color): 23g
  • Print time (X1C): 2d 19h 8m
  • Cost estimate: ~€49*

🟪Deluxe Cyberpunk Edition

Includes everything from the Base and Deluxe Editions, plus:

  • A special cyberpunk color scheme

Metrics

  • PLA Matte Charcoal: 1136g
  • PLA Matte Nardo Grey: 63g
  • PLA Matte Scarlet Red: 183g
  • PLA Basic Turquoise: 19g
  • PLA Basic Yellow: 467g
  • ABS Black (handles): 118g
  • TPU (any color): 23g
  • Print time (X1C): 3d 0h 15m
  • Cost estimate: ~€53*

These 3 profiles are just opinionated HomeRacker builds.
The heart of it all is the:

10" Rackmount Kit

The kit is an adapter designed to mount on a HomeRacker Core frame like this:

<insert image>

Using a x17 Support width, you'll match the 10" standard exactly—perfect for fitting standard 10" devices.

Features:

  • Standard 10" mounts
  • Mounting holes for M6 cage nuts
  • Comes in 3 heights: 1U, 2U, or 3U (fully adjustable via included .f3d file)

The flagship print profiles also come with the

Airflow Kit

Designed with two goals:

  • Improve heat dissipation
  • Reduce dust intake

(Also, honestly? I think it just looks cool.)

Features:

  • Scalable in 2 dimensions via the included .f3d file
  • Overlapping side panels to reduce false air intake
  • Top and bottom plates support 80mm, 92mm, and 120mm fans
  • Channeling built into all panels (side, front/back)
  • Special TPU-sliced inlet for cables—filters air, lets cables through

I intentionally didn't upload any other permutations than the one's which are part of the 10" rack.
I plan on giving this kit a separate model in the future.

Assembly

This model’s a bit complex—it's an opinionated take on what a 10" rack should look like.

To get you started:
I included a quick assembly GIF for the Deluxe Cyberpunk Rack.

I’ll also release a video tutorial—but editing takes time, and time is scarce.
Once it's ready, I’ll link it here.

What is HomeRacker?

HomeRacker is a universal modular rack building system I created. It's based on an open specification. Find out more here:

The Official HomeRacker Collection

With HomeRacker, you can build all sorts of things— like bookshelves, or a Dry Filament Shelf like on the pictures:

What's in the Box??

ending to 'Se7en' was an accident ...

The included print profiles are limited to the exact builds shown in the pictures—plus a bunch of lock pins.

Because they’re complex, the profiles only include necessary parts.

If you want to create your own build with custom shelf sizes, I’ve added extra files:

  • 3 rackmount variants (1U–3U) — see folder: 10inch Rackmount Kit
  • Original f3d file: HomeRacker - Rackmount Kit v48
  • Airflow Kit f3d: HomeRacker - AirFlow Kit v61

What's missing?

The rack frame itself isn’t included in this model (only selected parts).

Feedback & Disclaimer

Please let me know what you think!
This build has a lot of parts, so there’s a chance something’s missing from the print profiles.
If you notice anything, check the Core Model (insert link) or let me know—I’ll fix it asap.

Community Driven

Many of you have already shared great ideas with me — thank you! Unfortunately, my time is very limited. That's why I created the open specification (see Technical Specs), so anyone can create extensions and models for HomeRacker without license restrictions. If you have an idea and the ability to design CAD models, please go ahead — I'd be happy to link your creations in the catalog!
If you're not familiar with CAD design, feel free to pitch your idea to me with as much detail as possible.
