Following the success of  Underware - The Ultimate Cable Management Solution and  Underware 2.0 - Infinite Cable Management! the guild presents the beta version of the Underware for openGrid customizers.

openGrid is a solution designed by David D. that you can follow in openGrid - Wall/Desk mounting framework/ecosystem and he also released the Underware for openGrid this release brings you the customizers.

New grip flare inspired by Gavin F design: Better Grip Flared Underware Channels | openGrid seek the new option under the Advanced section of the customizer, skews the grips outside by a user defined flare angle, should increase grip on clearance issues, needs user testing due to materials brittleness. Grip flares are now available for full wall with cutouts for flexibility, use the letter S on the suppressor string to replace a grip for a static, non flare one.

Note: All item holders on Underware 2.0 or the Multiconnect Part Generator have mounting options for openGrid, see the collection openGrid - Models I like from David D. for further multiconnect alternatives to his originals!

You now can use text embossing instead of multicolor, choose the option to only emboss.

You now can have channel separators on some of the channel types, use a string with letter S to denote where a channel appears, they are half openGrid grid size and first one is middle of your width. Test combinations, like SNNNSS on larger widths to accomodate new use cases.

Why is this a beta release? 

We want your feedback, as we need to do extensive testing to improve the model and fitting for everyone. We haven't provided yet tweaks for the clearance of parts, but we are listening!

Available channels

We have released the following channels:

• I Channel (Straight)
• L Channel (curve from 2 straight portions, or omit straights with zero length) (now can be flipped, and additional radius added according to width)
• T Channel (3 way straight sections, can omit any of the 3 segments) Separate width on each segment!
• X Channel (4 way straight sections, can omit any segment)
• S Channel (2 Straight pieces with a curved portion between - not all widths and left/right, up distance will produce valid results, beware!)
• I Channel with height Change (Straight) - experimental, needs supports to print.
• I Channel with width change (Straight) - experimental, requires validation to have grips on both sides
• Diagonal Channel (2 Straight pieces with a diagonal piece between, validate results before printing)
• Flat text label customizable
• I Channel with bridge (Straight) over a given height and width of channels below, mandatory 1 length on both sides.
• I Channel (Straight) test with textures
• Experimental Mitre Channel

The bottom Y axis channel is also customizable with cord cutouts, text with color and allow suppression of connection points in all models.
