Descrição
Spacecolony that appear in science fiction works.
Printing Plate 1 + Plate 2 will get you a static assembly model; printing Plate 1 + Plate 3 and pairing with additional electronic parts will get you a self - rotating model. It is recommended to use silver or gray materials. Please read the instructions for assembly.
You can also display it together with other models.
——————More Information——————
Modeling:
The prototype of this work is the Island 3 Colony envisioned by O’Neill [1]. It also refers to the designs in the Mobile Suit Gundam series - Universal Century works [2][3][4]. It restores the 32 - km - class Spacecolony [5][6]at a scale of 1:200,000.
The structure basically restores the structural design of the Spacecolony, while the surface details are randomly drawn. Considering the scale, the surface undulations are greatly exaggerated to enhance the visual effect. Due to FDM printing and structural strength, some details deviate from the settings.
Textures:
The mirrors and the inner wall of the colony can be restored by pasting textures.
Save the following textures and print three copies, making their length and width 99.0mm x 17.5mm (there are usually white margins in printing, resulting in the texture size being smaller after printing. You can seek help from professionals in printing shops). During assembly, after completing Steps 1 - 5, carefully paste the textures on the inner wall.
Then prepare three aluminum foil stickers of 105.0mm x 16.0mm, paste them on the smooth surface of the mirror, and cut off the excess stickers at the four corners.

Motor:
The model motor is compatible with official Bambu accessories and can be purchased directly or selected separately. When the gear ratio of the gear motor is 1030 and the voltage is 1.8v, the self - rotating speed of the model is comparable to that in reality.
Although this is a movable model, you must realize that it is not suitable for constant self - rotation. When powered by 5v, the noise of the N20 motor is hard to ignore, and the hollow FDM model further enhances the resonance. Reducing the voltage can perfectly solve this problem, but you need to do it according to your ability.
To be compatible with more motors, the bottom of the motor box is not closed, which also reduces the visual experience.
You may also notice that the spindle has a relatively large clearance, which is a result of compromising the overhanging mass and will not affect the stability or further increase the noise.
