As my MGS collection grew, I realized that I would need to find a way to properly display my ships while conserving space. I set out to design a system of panels that would allow me to grow in different dimensions. This stack system lets you go as tall as you're comfortable going while also working side to side. The Elevator model is a bit tricky. I've found that there is some height loss over multiple stories but they are non functional and just for set dressing. Feel free to print a shim to go with it.
This system is designed to work with smaller fighters. Some ships will fit if you double stack or simply place them on top. You can see that with the RazorCrest and the Marauder. The Falcon will NOT fit with this. Same for the Ghost and other similarly sized ships.
I'm happy with this as it is but I consider all things work in progress. Feel free to reach out if you have any tweaks or adjustments you'd like to see.
EDIT – See the render for the pad joiner pieces, now marked in red. As pointed out in the comments, these do not work alongside the risers. These work well for flat setups that are side by side or potentially doing one layer as shown. I'd not recommend doing more than one layer as the joining center point will start to sag.
