In a world with too many spool holders, here comes another one… you might be thinking we need another spool holder like we need more benchies… and you’d be right!

None the less, here is my version of a reuseable spool holder.  I find myself using filament from lots of different manufactures and hate that they all use different spools.  I especially hate cardboard spools as even the slightest problem causes an error.  I’ve tried rings, tape, etc, and none have worked perfectly.  My solution was to create this system and just tear the cardboard sides off and move them to this spool holder. 

I’ve taken inspiration and great ideas from several others and incorporated all those design concepts into this one. 

• Screw type design – The ability to screw the halves together helps eliminate the filament from slipping down the side and binding.
• Built in filament clip – Snap the filament in either side of the spool at any spot.  No clips needed.
• No need to print multiple spools for different manufacturers.  The spool fits some of the smaller diameter spools and then uses the adapters to adjust for bigger spool diameters like Bambu, eSun, Eleg oo, Polymaker, Overture, etc.
• AMS compatible – Works with AMS, AMS Lite, Kobra ACE, and more.
• A designated spot for a 30x40mm label to identify color and type.

I recommend printing in ABS or at the minimum, PETG.

Tested and prints great on the X1 Series, P1 Series, and A1 printers.  Not compatible with the A1 Mini due to size of frame.  Two Adapters print great on the A1 Mini.

The Spool without Adapters is sized to fit some of the smaller diameter spools from eSun and others.  To fit a Bambu refill, the adapter is needed.  Adapters have brand names etched in the side to help identify which Adapter to use.
