Summary

I've had a few requests now to create a 16x16 enclosure that works using the stencil sheets. Seeing as my 8x32 enclosure was so popular, I decided to go ahead an design the 16x16 enclosure and here it is! It works really well and looks super nice and polished.

I also have a video posted to my YouTube channel that discuses the build and why I made some of the design choices I went with, it also explains the ridges on the back plate and the notches on the grid. I also showcase some of the design issues I had with earlier prototypes and why I went a certain route with my build. Plus I show you how to put it all together, including setting up the WLED software. There is a shopping list for all items needed to complete the build. Be sure to check it out.

  Be sure you print the grid out of a very dark or Black PLA, as light bleed can occur with White or light colored PLA. I used White for my prototype as that was all I had on hand at the time.

  Note, This design does not include a diffuser, as I wanted a cleaner build, so you will need to acquire some Stencil Sheets from Hobby Lobby or a craft store. They work way better than a 3D printed diffuser. You can print your own diffuser sheet to work with this panel if you wish but i'd recommend the stencil sheet option, They are only about 2 dollars US.
