Extendable Hydroponics System
Hydroponics is an efficient and scalable way to grow plants without soil, and this modular system allows you to start simple and expand as needed. Below is a step-by-step guide outlining the base system and its optional upgrades, giving you full control over your hydroponic setup.
1. Base System: Reservoir & Lid
At the core of this system is a sturdy reservoir with a custom lid designed to support plants. This setup can be used as a standalone passive hydroponic system, allowing for simple water-based plant growth.
2. LED Lighting Upgrade
For improved plant growth, LED strip lights can be added to provide optimal lighting conditions. The system is designed to accommodate LED mounting, making it easy to integrate additional lighting as needed.

For convenience there is a small hole where the cable can be pulled through. If used without the external electrics upgrade you will need a power source (usually 12v).
3. Water Circulation: 12V DC Pump & Venturi Aerator (Optional 8mm Piping)
To enhance oxygenation and water movement, a 12V DC water pump can be added. This can function with or without 8mm piping and a custom-designed Venturi aerator for increased oxygen levels, improving root health and plant growth.

For automation and monitoring, an external electronics box can be added. It houses an Arduino Uno R4 Minima along with a relay to control the pump. This setup allows for automated water circulation, improving efficiency.
