3D Scanning Reference Frame Joint
🛠️ Product Description:
A connector designed for building reference frames used in 3D scanning with global marker tracking. It allows for assembling structural arms into spatial configurations. Each hole can either hold a magnet for joining parts or a plug for attaching a reflective marker.
⚙️ Technical Specifications:
- Magnet hole diameter: 10 mm, depth 3 mm
- Compatible magnets: Neodymium disc magnets 10×3 mm (recommended grade N35–N52)
- Recommended printing materials: PLA, PETG, ABS
- Plugs: Optional inserts used instead of magnets; serve as a mounting point for reflective markers
- Printing orientation: Flat surface down, layer height 0.2 mm or finer
🧲 Magnet Placement and Orientation:
Magnets must be glued in with consistent polarity so that opposite parts attract each other. Always check the magnetic poles before gluing using a test magnet.
📌 Plugs and Reflective Markers:
Instead of a magnet, a plug can be inserted into the hole and used as a base for sticking a reflective marker. Plugs are simply pressed into place without tools.
🔧 Scanner Compatibility:
Compatible with 3D scanners that support external marker tracking:
- Revopoint – Miraco, Mini, Range, Inspire, Metrox
- Creality – CR-Scan Lizard, Ferret, Ferret Pro
- Shining 3D
- 3DMakerpro
- Aoralscan
- and other optical 3D scanners supporting global marker tracking
