A playful twist-to-close Easter Egg decoration container inspired by the sci-fi horror classic, Alien.
The shell is about 3 inches wide, so scale to your needs accordingly.
I have test printed it as small as 30% using Bambu’s 0.08mm profile. The snap-twist mechanism holds up at this scale, but the slicer creates some small holes where the shell is thinnest.
My default profile was chosen to retain surface quality, adjust to your time constraints but mileage will vary.
This Alien Easter Egg idea came to me while I was making my (forthcoming) Li'l Ripley and Xenomorph model. Since I'm blending the Alien characters with the aesthetic of Mario and Yoshi, I included a little Yoshi/Facehugger Egg mashup, and with Easter just around the corner, I thought it'd be fun to make a version of the egg that you can hide some candy inside. So there'll be nothing deadly waiting to burst out of these eggs other than the usual holiday spirit of diabetes.
I always love mixing a bit of Nostalgia from my childhood into the experiences of my own kids, especially when they don't get the horror references. Have some fun mixing these into the usual Easter Egg hunts and build some memories that the kids will definitely question you about when they get older. If they get any fun reactions, be sure to share them with me on My Social Links
The twist closure snaps satisfyingly into place, but that snug fit means there's not quite enough clearance to print in one piece. (maybe I'll revisit the mechanism if I come up with any other ideas.)
