My Programmable Music Box

This music box is fully printable and programmable.
I designed it in the hope it can used to educate kids about music such as rhythm and notes.
It is relatively easy to assemble with a bit of patience.
This was designed more as a toy than an actual music instrument, so notes are not as clear as on a metal made music box.

If I had more time before the competition, I would have like to improve on the speaker part of the music box to increase the sound output of it.

Version 2 is in the making!

Thanks to a lot of suggestions received by the 3d printing community I made a lot of progress on a couple of the issues with version 1.
Version 1 is more a toy than a musical instrument, that will change in version 2 and it will have a more clear sound on individual notes.
Footprint is a lot smaller and overall more robust.
I am hoping to release version 2 in a near future after I have done some more testing!
 

About the parts:

Tuning Fork

This need to be printed in PLA basic, matte is not springy enough.
The fork is mathematically tuned to a standard scale that can be used to create most modern music.
 

Program Matt

The matt is divided into 16 tacts and can easily be modified using a plier to remove the notes you don't need.
Alternatively, you can use bambu studio to remove the unneeded notes on the sheet.


Important assembly info:

All parts are made to be printed in PLA, but the matt is more flexible if it is printed in PETG.
When you assemble the drum, be patient when mounting it into the slit, everything is designed to be a tight fit.
Tolerances is different on printers and filament, so do testing before printing the full thing and adjust accordingly in bambu studio hole and contour compensation setting.

I have done a lot of testing on this model to ensure it works if instructions are followed and you do basic maintenance on your printer like a clean bed and nozzle.
