Descrição

This box distribution box is designed for power measuring and fan control of up to four micro inverters.

 

After using a larger four channel inverter to feed my solar panel to the mains (and having loads of trouble with that smart device) I switched over to four separate Grid Tie Micro Inverters.
To monitor and control the cooling of these units I developped this distribution box and a Multiboard base for the inverter. The box contains Energy meters and switches that are measured and controlled by Home Assistant.

The fans can be individually controlled using the  Home Assistant Automations. 

I have them switch on when the power of an inverter gets over 175W for more than a minute and it switches off when below 150W for more than a minute. 

These values are good for the 350W inverter. If you use a different power rating then you should adjust these values accordingly.

 

The components are: 

2x   (Zigbee) Two Channel Clamp Bidirectional Energy meter

1x   (Zigbee) Four Channel Switch Module

2x   200mm DIN Rail

4x   C14 Socket Female (Inverter input)

1x   C14 Socket Male (Connection to mains)

4x   C8 Socket (Fan power)

12x M4 Heat insert

12x M4x15 Machine Screw

18x M3 Heat insert

18x M3x15 Machine Screw

15x UK 2.5 Terminal Block

3x   UK 2.5 End Cover

3x   UK 2.5 Fixed Bridge

For the rest you'll need a lot of wires, patience and a clear head.

 

The wiring does look like a mess (like to call it my spaghetti box) but it should be self explanatory.
Just wire one channel at a time and there should be no confusion.

 

In the base of the box there are four 4.5mm screw holes.

These can be used to fix this box directly to a wall or use Mid-Print Nut - Weight Bearing Snap - M4 to fix it to multiboard.
