The Bird Spikes model is an effective bird deterrent system designed to keep birds from landing on surfaces like ledges, fences, or windowsills. Each module is 80mm long and holds 8 pieces of filament, each 100 mm (3,9inch) in length, which act as the spikes to discourage birds from perching. The modular design allows you to print and extend the spikes as needed to cover larger areas, offering a customizable and easy-to-print solution for bird control.

For optimal durability, it’s not recommended to use PLA filament, as it lacks UV resistance and is less tolerant to temperature changes. PETG filament is highly recommended for outdoor use due to its improved UV resistance and temperature durability.

If the filament pieces don’t fit tightly in the slots, you can use super glue or another adhesive to secure them in place. (due to the different diameter changes when the filament is stretched)

Assembly Process for Bird Spikes Model:

1. Insert unused filament pieces onto a heated print bed set to the maximum temperature.

2. Wait for 5 minutes to allow the filament to soften slightly.

3. Carefully remove the filament and straighten it. 

4. Measure 100mm (3,9inch) of filament and cut it to the desired length.

5. Insert the cut filament pieces into the printed bird spike module.

6. Your bird spikes are now ready to use!
