Introduction

This Queen Bee Cage, consisting of a housing, lid and closure cap, provides an effective way to isolate the queen in the hive without interfering with brood production. The queen can lay eggs, but the cells will not be expanded due to the limited space in the cage.

Instructions

1. Place the queen in the cage and securely close it with the closure cap.
2. The queen can lay eggs, but no new brood will be produced, as the cage lacks space for development.
3. After about 24 days, all brood will have emerged, and the colony will be in a brood-free period.
4. This period is ideal for treating the bees with oxalic acid for varroa control. Use dripping, spraying, or vaporizing methods.
