About Roll Hexfinity, an Infinite Hex-Based Ball System Inspired by Gridfinity
Roll Hexfinity is designed for limitless creativity, deeply satisfying ball rolling, and aesthetic beauty you can leave on display.
About Expansion Pack #1
Are you ready to unlock new dimensions of creativity in your Roll Hexfinity system? If you love the dynamic, endlessly variable world of ball mazes, then this Expansion Pack is made for you. These new bricks bring multiple ball paths and larger, more graceful curves that add exciting new flow dynamics to your already growing collection.
Key New Capabilities:
- Split & Merge Bricks - Multiple Ball Paths – With these new modules, you can split and merge routes to create complex networks instead of being limited to a single path.
- 2-Path Bricks: Larger, More Graceful Curves – Enjoy smoother, more elegant curves that enhance both the aesthetics and function of your ball mazes.
- 7-hex Base: Expanded Creative Canvas – The new, larger 7-hex base plate provides an even bigger foundation for building ambitious, eye-catching layouts.
Please note that this is an Expansion Pack, so it assumes you already have at least one print of the Roll Hexfinity Starter Pack—you’ll need the Source Brick and some of the stacking plates at a minimum. (BambuHandy users: if that link doesn't work, try tapping the “roll hexfinity” tag below to get to the other models)
4 New Pieces
- New Split Brick – A 1-to-2 random ball redirector that introduces delightful unpredictability by splitting a single path into two, opening up exciting new flow dynamics.
- New Merge Brick – Accepts three different input directions (one straight and two curves) and merges them into one satisfying output, creating novel connection opportunities.
- 4x New 2-Path Bricks – Featuring two long, 30° curves, these bricks offer a perfect complement to the starter kit’s 3-path brick. (the quick-print plate includes 4 copies of this brick, but you can print however you want, obviously!)
- New, Larger 7-Hex Base Plate – Provides an expanded foundation to support more ambitious, intricate designs.
- Extra Sink – When splitting paths, one sink might not be enough. This extra sink allows you to capture balls from multiple routes, further enhancing your design options.

Future Expansion
There’s more on the horizon! One more expansion pack is coming soon to round out the core Roll Hexfinity base system, but I’m not stopping there. More exotic pieces, as well as a storage system, are in the pipe. Plus, the Gridfinity adapter is coming soon, too.
There are links below to the specifications. If you want to design your own bricks to add to the system, be sure to share below in the comments! I can't wait to print them out.
“Roll” Hexfinity? Gridfinity?
Why call it hexfinity? As I started to design this rolling system, and I settled on hexes as the base shape, I had to establish a few baseline design criteria: How would they interlock? How big will they be? I, like many of you, love Gridfinity, so I decided to see just how compatible I could make a hex-based system with the existing Gridfinity system. Hence, Hexfinity. A Gridfinity → Hexfinity adapter is in the works and coming soon.
What about “Roll Hexfinity”? I'm using “Hexfinity” to refer to the interlock and stacking system. Anything pieces having to do with rolling balls I'm calling “Roll Hexfinity.”
