Essential Drawing Organiser

I enjoy designing and printing useful and efficient items to help me stay organised.

Having all of the tools I need to design my projects at hand can be difficult and I was getting tired of misplacing certain things, so I created a case to hold all of the most important tools and stationary I use daily.

There are slots for:

A Mechanical pencil or pen
Pencil lead
A full-sized pencil
A small pencil
Rubber and sharpener
A7 sized notebook
calipers
Ruler
A miscellaneous slot for various items like memory sticks.
3 small hidden slots surround the notebook.

I have designed two main models for this organiser which are:

The AMS version

• The main organiser
• The Lid
• The platforms

Non-AMS version (less waste)

•The main organiser
•The Lid
•The platforms
•Coloured inserts.

Both versions require the platforms to be glued but it is recommended that the cloured plates are glued in first on the non-AMS version.

If you wish to have the organiser all one colour, use the AMS version and set both colours on the model to one slot/colour in your AMS.

This project has taken me a few weeks to perfect and I have printed quite a few different versions to ensure it wastes as little filament as possible and is still strong enough to hold everything in place.

Recommended print settings.

0.4mm nozzle
2-3 walls (3 will be stronger)
Auxiliary fan off
Bed temp between 55-60° for the standard plate.
A wide brim

Bed adhesion is very important for large models, so make sure the bed is completely clean!

The holes are designed for 6x3mm or 6x4mm magnets, which require a little glue and then pushing in.

The recess around the model allows the use of an elastic strap to hold the lid on tight.
