Complete ground up re-design of an earlier project of mine.
California Filament spools seem to be quite a bit narrower than most other spools and I have a couple of those and it was annoying me that they never sat right in the original spool stand.
It's still centered around using the Ezy Storage18L/19Qt Waterproof Clear Latch Tote IP-67 from Home Depot because that's what I prefer to store my filament in.
Some things that have been improved:
- They now use dovetails to connect to each other instead of holes (needing supports) and separate pins
- The print time was reduced by ⅓ (one hour faster for 2 end pieces for example)
- The filament usage was also reduced by a little over ⅓
- Light supports are only needed on the hygrometer middle pieces
It is still modular and infinitely extendable with as many middle pieces as you like, but 2 ends and 2 middles fit perfectly in the Ezy box.
The middle sections come in 3 flavors:
- Round Hygrometer Holder
- Rectangular Hygrometer Holder
- No Hygrometer Holder
