Descrição
I'm excited to share with you a custom-designed latch that I originally created for my bathroom window. While it's perfect for window applications, this versatile latch can be adapted for various closure needs around your home or workspace.
Dimensions
- the housing measuring 50x46mm
- the bracket measuring 50x15mm
I've also designed an alternative bracket for perpendicular mounting, offering more installation flexibility.
The mechanism utilizes a 3/8" x 3/4" compression spring, though I believe different spring sizes could work just as well. To secure the latch, you'll need six screws, either 4mm or 4.5mm in diameter.
Assembly and Installation
Assembly is straightforward:
- The handle needs to be glued into the slider slot (after putting everything together). I found superglue to be effective for this purpose.
- Mount the housing and bracket using the screws.
Material
I printed my latch using PLA+, which has held up well so far. However, for increased durability, you might consider using materials like PETG or ABS, especially for outdoor applications or high-use areas.
*NOTE: It is important to print the 'slider' in the flat orientation, for better sliding action.
feel free to ask me for different dimensions or contact me if you have any kind of problem with this print!
