Background:

I have been using the AMS V2 riser from maCyo42 for almost as long as I have had my printer and I love it. 

I have made a few tool mounts for the side of the riser Here, Here, and Here.

Everything was perfect… until I got another AMS. I looked at some of the options to mount both AMS on top of the riser, but I didn't like the way they looked or the fact that they took away my ability to mount things on the side of the riser. I ended up going with the awesome Dual AMS Rack from Skybird Design that moves both AMS to my bench, right next to my machine. 

Everything was back to perfect… except I had this goofy looking blank space on top of my riser. It seemed like a great place to put tools and keep them organized and within reach. Naturally I thought of gridfinity to fill that space and organize some of my tools.

Introducing the 8x6 Gridfinity Topper for AMS Riser v2!

This 4 piece design is a snug fit on top of your v2 AMS riser (like seriously, you may want to sand the outside edges a tiny bit). Each corner includes a little nub that sits down in the notches on the top of the riser where the AMS feet used to go, so it is extremely secure. Each of the pieces also has holes around the edge where you can insert varying sizes of heat inserts to bolt the pieces together if you wish. I used m2x4 inserts and m2x8 screws with washers because that is what I had that I didn't need for other projects. Each of the 48 gridfinity squares includes holes for 4 magnets (192 total), if you wish to use them. 

The pieces do require supports to print (the profile here allowed for easy support removal).
