Please take care removing the supports. Hold the arm, tail or leg and work your way in crushing the base and remving it by material fatigue (IE, wiggling it until it breaks clean off) 

Before removing the tree, always crush the base to make the "wiggling" easier

Cut the brim away from the feet and remove the tree
