Update: I added a new design for the bin that removes issue with the dispensers interacting with each other. This new bin doesn't use the bottom magnet on the dispenser so I have also added another version of the cap without a magnet hole on the bottom. 

I had been struggling to find a good storage solution for my 6x2mm #Gridfinity magnets. I had just been keeping then in a standard bin but they liked to stack themselves into long stacks and stick out of the bin. I also tried a bunch of small vertical holes but that resulted in what can only be described as a rail gun… the slightest bump would cause the stacks of magnets to jump out of their holes.

Then I found Handy Magnet Dispensers V2 by Ed Johnson and I really liked the idea, but I honestly didn't love the implementation, so I made a new design inspired by his.

My Gridfinity magnet dispenser prints in 3 pieces and assembles with 4 6x2mm magnets.

The dispenser hold approximately 48 6x2mm magnets. 

It has a slider that pushes up the magnets for easy separation and holds the stack of magnets from falling out of the dispenser even when turned upside down.

The design uses a magnet in the base of the dispenser and in the Gridfinity bin that holds the dispenser securely upright in the bin. You can omit these magnets if you feel they are overkill.

The dispenser simple threads together after installing the magnets. The magnets should be press fit but may require a little glue if they fit too loosely depending on the tolerance of your printer.

Make sure when installing the magnets that the magnet in the threaded side of the cap (the side facing the slider) and the bottom magnet in the slider are installed so they are attracted together. This is what keeps the slider and stack of magnets from extending when the dispenser is upside down.
