Introducing this hinge replacement part, remodeled from the broken one of my trash can. I can now mount back the cover plate and use the pedal to open. Since I did not have to follow the injection molding design guidelines as the original part, I also reinforced the fragile sections of the part by increasing thickness where possible and adding radiuses to avoid edges prone to rupture.

I printed mine in PETG, the profile includes PLA and ABS, but PLA might not be the better suited material for this application. So far PETG is resistant enough.
