Practical Solution for the Kitchen
There are never enough hooks in the kitchen for small items like a thermometer, tweezers, measuring spoons, kitchen scissors, or other small accessories. You know best what you need to hang, but having extra storage space makes kitchen work more convenient. That’s why I made these hooks in different lengths so that everyone can find the right option.
Testing the Adhesion
I first tried small hooks and used very sticky double-sided stickers. I decided to use PETG, although I doubted that anything would stick to it. However, to my surprise, everything worked out perfectly—the hooks hold securely and don’t fall off. So far, everything is hanging in place, and this solution seems reliable.
Choosing the Material
I chose PETG because it is strong, resistant to loads, and mechanically durable. I immediately ruled out ABS—it has weak layer adhesion, which can lead to breakage under stress. PETG, on the other hand, is almost monolithic—it holds its shape well and is difficult to break.
When printing, I use supports at the edge of feasibility, but they are easy to remove. Everything is designed with minimal gaps to keep the surface as smooth and even as possible for sticker adhesion. This ensures a reliable bond while keeping the support structure from interfering.
PLA with full infill might adhere better, but I chose PETG. Why? I took the risk—I had to test the adhesion. This material is strong, resistant to stress, and mechanically durable. ABS was immediately ruled out due to its weak layer adhesion, which can lead to breakage. PETG, however, is almost monolithic—it retains its shape well and is difficult to break.
Safety and Usage Tips
If the sticker didn’t hold, and you were hanging your favorite mug, please don’t blame me if it broke. Use the hooks at your own risk. They are best suited for safe items like towels, spatulas, whisks, or pot holders. These items won’t break and will always be within reach.
Different Sizes for Convenience
By the time I was preparing this publication, I had already found uses for these hooks not only in the kitchen but also in the shower. We’ll see how well they hold up there, but there are certainly things to attach. I also used them on my workspace. I'm sure many have already seen it in my videos and other works, among the photos. There are plenty of things hanging on the wall, but there are never enough hooks. So I decided to use these as well.
During the process, I decided to make the hooks in different lengths so that everyone can choose the most convenient option. Some will prefer a short one, while others may need a longer one, depending on what they plan to hang. Try them out, choose, and find the best option for you. I hope they come in handy!
Enjoy! Good luck!
