Ever since I got the A1 combo, I've been looking for a perfect AMS Lite dry box solution. And now, after weeks of searching and testing, I've finally settled on a design I liked. The only problem is the box for the original design can't be found anywhere outside of China. So, after a few days searching using different keywords, and buying different storage boxes to test, I believe I've found the perfect box. The box is 33.8 Quarts or 32 Liters in volume, perfectly fits 4 spools with some extra room for a few bags of desiccants. And most important of all, this box is IP67 rated!

Dimensions of the box:

Here's the link to purchase the box from Target: Ezy Storage 33.8qt IP67 Waterproof File Storage Box

If there is no Target near you that has stock, you can either search for the product name, there should be a couple of places that sells it. I think when I searched for it, HomeDepot also sells it, and also Amazon.

In the original design, the spool holders in slots 2 and 3 are almost touching each other, even with the recess around the base of the shaft. The recess also causes some rubbing issues with certain spools from other companies. And the shaft had some issues with how the AMS Lite spool holders clip in, as in they don't really hold on too well.

So in this remix, I fixed all the aforementioned issues with the shaft. And since the box is slightly larger than the box used in the original design, I've extended the size of the base length wise, such that there is no danger of anything touching each other. The shafts are also extended a bit such that there is a little space between the AMS Lite spool holder and the shaft base when installed.

As for the feeder mount, I really liked the v2 design here: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/486438](https://makerworld.com/en/models/486438)

It already has screw holes designed into it, so it can be easily fixed onto the side of the box. The only problem with it is the left and right mount only had a normal through hole for screws. That's not secure enough for my taste, so I added a profile for it that allows m3 nut to be inserted into the mounts. Assembly is super easy

  1. Four 6mm holes for the pc4-m6 fittings. The box has this seam at the bottom, which is perfect to measure from. I measure out 2.6mm and 8.1mm from the frosted part along the seam, and then 5mm upwards from the seam, which makes the holes facing square on the spools.

  2. Use whatever glue you'd like to use to fix the base to the bottom of the box, I used hot glue. The box has some “grid” lines that matches perfectly with the base.

  3. The feeder holder measure 150mm side to side, I just traced a template of it on a piece of paper and made sure to center it on the side of the box. There's a frosted line on the side of the box, I aligned the top of the feeder to that line.
