After looking for a wall (Or any orientation!) mount for my SwitchBot Outdoor/Indoor Temperature + Humidity Meter I decided to design my own that resolved the problems I was seeing with other models on here and other sites.

1. 🪨Secure Fit is made possible by making the design clamp around the device. This necessitates that the mount is printed on-its-side and is therefore designed to print best in that orientation. This is crucial as otherwise there is risk of splitting at layer lines after repeated insertion and removal (I have not seen any issues with this design so far in strength)
2. 🥷Concealed Fixing so to make the installation neat, crucially using two countersunk standard screw holes to allow for a stable fixture to most surfaces.
3. ⛈️Rain Drainage Holes are part of the model so that there is lower chance of water or ice building up around the sensor
4. 🍃Vented Rear Face is crucial when mounting a thermometer to the exterior of a heated space such as a house. The vents allow for reduced thermal bridging between the property and the sensor so increase accuracy of ambient measurement. How affective this is I have not quantified; it depends on many variables, but it makes one feel more confident in our measurement.

I have tested in PETG which is more flexible than PLA but it should work in either. I do wonder if stiffer filament the fit may be a much tighter ‘snap’ and possible harder to insert? …I look forward to seeing if it works for people using PLA 🤞

Fit to your wall or any surface be it ceiling etc using 2x countersunk screws. The spacing of the screws is 36mm and I used standard 4x35mm wood screws into Rawl plugs inserted into holes in my exterior wall. One word of caution, as with all 3d prints, is to not over-tighten the screws as you risk splitting the plastic.
