Vertical Drill Guide

Use of this tool

This is a vertical drilling guide designed to help you drill perfectly perpendicular holes when using longer drill bits. The tool provides a stable reference surface so your drill bit stays aligned and true to the workpiece.

How does it help?

• Improves Accuracy:  Keeps your drill bit at a consistent 90° angle to the surface, reducing crooked holes.
• Adds Stability:  The larger outer ring sits firmly on the workpiece, helping prevent slipping or wandering as you start drilling.

How to use it

1.  Select the appropriate top cap for the drill bit size you’re using.
2.  Insert the drill bit through the cap and thread it onto the main body.
3.  Place the guide on your workpiece so the ring rests flat on the surface.
4.  Start drilling slowly, letting the guide keep your bit aligned vertically.

Note

If you're someone who has downloaded one of my previous projects that included drill bit heads, you technically don’t need to print these new ones. The older drill bit heads should still work with this tool. However, please note that these guide bits were specifically designed and optimized for this project to ensure maximum compatibility.

Extra Guide Bits

This package includes a set of guide bits ranging from 3mm to 10mm, allowing you to handle a variety of drilling tasks with precision.

Additionally, this tool works seamlessly with a metal guide bit that features an M14x1.5 thread. In fact, we highly recommend using a metal guide bit for frequent or heavy-duty applications, as filament-based guide bits can degrade over time due to wear and tear.

Printing Instructions

If possible, do not change any of the printing settings provided for this model. This design has already undergone multiple successful prototype prints with the current configuration, and no issues were encountered during the process.

Changing the settings could affect the quality, precision, or functionality of the final product, and I cannot guarantee that the results will remain consistent if any adjustments are made. For the best experience, please stick to the original parameters.

If everything done correctly the support of the base should just snap right off.
