Remix Info:
I merged these two models in an organic way.
Summary:
A simple mug that you can customise through OpenSCAD
Model Description:
As I wasn't certain how the import of an STL file would work through some OpenSCAD APIs, I developed a small Python program allowing the conversion of an STL file into an OpenSCAD polyhedron. This allows the use of any models without the need for external files (the model is hardcoded) and thus guarantees the working of the OpenSCAD file even when uncertain of the filesystem in place behind the scenes. The code is freely available here: [https://github.com/mosselini1/STLtoPolyhedron](https://github.com/mosselini1/STLtoPolyhedron) . This idea of hardcoding the model into the file came from its use in this model (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1729963/files).
You can customize the underside of this model (which was made thicker for this reason) by carving away text of your choosing through OpenSCAD parameters.
This mug can contain about 600mL of liquid.
It is important to note that the 3d printing process is not necessarly food safe even if the printing material used is labeled as such, therefore it is recommended to coat any 3d print which comes in contact with food, mouths, … with for example a food safe epoxy resin.
Printing information:
- Use tree supports to support the handle
- You should print it with a non-porous material like PETG (or ASA) to avoid bacterial accumulation.
