Descrição
I added lights to my X1C and used BTF-Lighting's 5-in-1 Zigbee Controller to integrate with Home Assistant. The wiring was pretty short after leaving my AMS Riser V2 and there wasn't room to add anything to the back mounts. So I came up with this minimalist design to clip on to the each end of the controller and mount to the back of the printer using three (3) 6x2mm magnets. It works great and also mounts directly to my storage rack for the lighting that illuminates my entire printer storage rack.
- Reduces strain on wires
- Quick to print (~8 minutes for a pair of clips)
- No supports needed
- Requires 6x2mm magnets
Important Print / Installation Information
When printing, I highly recommend that you use the Print Profile I have provided. For the magnets to hold properly, I added a fuzzy skin to the interior walls of the magnet slots. I believe this will facility installation and will hold better than smooth walls. I used PETG and think it will work slightly better than PLA but I have also printed working versions in PLA.
To install the magnets, I started pushing them in to the slot by hand, and then used a pair of pliers to gently press them in the rest of the way. They should sit even or slightly raised from the surface of the clip. Then turn the clip upside down and push on to the end of the controller clip.
Other
This is the controller that it was designed for: BTF-LIGHTING 5in1 LM052 Tuya Zigbee3.0 LED Controller. I have several of these and they work great!
If you have one of the controllers with the shorter sides, I'd be happy to create a version with different dimensions if this one doesn't hold well. It might work but I can shorten up the grip if you can provide information.
Does anyone one to permanently mount this to a surface? If so, let me know and I can create a variation that has a screw hole in the back that can be used instead of magnets.
Do you have another use for this besides lighting controllers? Let me know what you're using these for and I'll add a mention in the description so others can find it! :)
